Dorian's Editorial on Vision and Reality
(Commenting on Harper's Benign Efforts)
We must embrace Kyoto as opposed to "Harper's 'Band Aid Solutions'." As MP for Newmarket-Aurora I would seek to hold the Federal Government Accountable for it's broken promises to Canadians in general and the constituents of Newmarket-Aurora in particular.
I believe that the Federal Government needs to take over the infrastructure of Canadian Health Care and in so doing prevent the two tier Health Care that Harper and his predecessor Paul Martin have allowed to sneak in through the back door. Federal oversight and Provincial dispensing of the Health Care System will ensure greater all round efficiency and eliminate the horrendous "waiting" times that currently plague our hospitals today!
Education should also have a federal infrastructure and, whilst it is dispensed provincially, it should be made available to every aspiring young Canadian that has achieved the academic requirements for post secondary education. This can, and will, lead to the lowering of university fees and the lessening of the need for provincial student loans. It is these loans which currently cripple our current university graduates with astronomical debts of up to $40,000.00 just to complete an Honors B.A. Programme!
